What is Share The Magic?
Share The Magic is a nonprofit organization based in Modesto, California, dedicated to spreading joy and encouraging community spirit during the holiday season. Every year, we organize gift drives across various neighborhoods in Modesto, each overseen by local residents passionate about strengthening their communities. These neighborhood coordinators share our vision of building closer connections and creating a more unified community. As Share The Magic continues to expand, we welcome new neighborhoods into our initiative, with gifts collected both within each neighborhood and at participating local businesses. How did Share The Magic begin?
"Share The Magic" was founded seven years ago by local Modesto resident Alessandra Rossini with the simple goal of fostering community involvement. While in 6th grade, Alessandra conceived the idea of organizing a neighborhood gift drive for teens in need. With the help of a few close friends, she distributed around 250 flyers in her neighborhood, uncertain of the response but determined to proceed. That first year, they collected 65 gifts, which were donated to the Modesto Gospel Mission in December.
Since then, Alessandra has expanded her initial idea into a nonprofit organization that now serves numerous neighborhoods across Modesto. The gifts collected are now donated to CASA of Stanislaus County as well Modesto Gospel Mission. These donations help both charities serve the needs of children and teens during the holiday season. Her dedicated friends, who helped her in those early days, have been joined by volunteers from her Leadership class from a local Modesto City High School, who earn volunteer hours by supporting Share The Magic each season. These teen volunteers walk miles and miles every November and December, distributing thousands of flyers to promote Share The Magic throughout Modesto.
Alessandra now aims to extend her nonprofit's reach beyond Modesto to neighboring communities and to new areas. The goal of Share The Magic is to help other people organize gift drives in their own communities, hoping to continue to "share the magic" on a larger scale.

Where do the donations go?
Gifts collected are donated to charities throughout Stanislaus County. We deliver gifts to Modesto Gospel Mission and CASA of Stanislaus County.
